Inlays / Onlays: Inlay/Fractured tooth
Description
A lot of people ask why replace grey/ mercury fillings. This is a very traditional restorative material. It expands and contracts and really is not conservative for remaining tooth structure. Yes it lasts forever but the tooth does not because of it. This is another daily example that we see in our Montreal Cosmetic Practice. The filling remains but the tooth is fractured. Luckily the fracture can be restored. We replaced the mercury amalgam filling and reinforced the tooth with a porcelain inlay. This should last the patients life and more importantly the tooth should last their life because of it.
