Chew and Speak Efficiently

Bridges placed by our dentists can significantly improve oral function, allowing you to eat all the foods you love and speak with confidence.

Improve the Appearance of Your Smile

Gaps can make you feel insecure or embarrassed about your smile. A lifelike dental bridge can solve this problem in a way that looks totally natural.

Prevent Misalignment and Dental Issues

These restorations can keep your surrounding teeth in place, preventing misalignment. Additionally, if you choose to anchor your restoration with implants, these artificial tooth roots can promote a stronger jawbone.

Available Options

Our practice strives to provide the highest quality of restorations available using the most up-to-date restorative dental technologies. We provide both traditional restorations and replacement teeth supported by dental implants.
Cantilever Bridges

Cantilever Bridges

When there is only one tooth available to uphold a restoration, we might recommend a cantilever bridge. This restoration comprises one or more artificial teeth, known as pontics, that attach to a single crown on your tooth.

Maryland Bonded Dental Bridge

Maryland Bonded Dental Bridge

A Maryland bonded dental bridge is a minimally invasive alternative to a traditional dental bridge. It features one or more artificial teeth and two small wings that attach to the backside of adjacent teeth.

Prettau® Zirconia Dental Bridges

Prettau® Zirconia Dental Bridges

Implant-supported Prettau® Zirconia dental bridges can replace teeth from root to crown. Zirconia is the strongest material available for restorations and is made to look indistinguishable from natural teeth.

A Closer Look at Bridges

A traditional bridge involves reshaping the healthy teeth adjacent to the gap in your smile to support a custom-made restoration. We can also craft a bridge that connects to one or more implants,

The Treatment Process

At Smile Montreal, we tailor every dental service to meet your individual needs. Here is a look at a typical treatment timeline:

Consultation

The dentist will perform an examination of your bite and jaw structure to determine which type of bridge you need. We will develop a treatment plan and help you select the materials for your restoration. Most patients prefer porcelain or zirconia, especially when replacing a front tooth, because these materials are strong and natural-looking.

Tooth Preparation

If you decide a traditional bridge is right for you, we will reshape your nearby teeth to prepare for the crowns that will support your bridge. Patients who opt for dental implants will have titanium posts surgically placed in the jaw and need three to six months to heal.

Crafting the Bridge

The dentist will take impressions of your natural teeth to send to our trusted dental lab for bridge construction. In the meantime, the dentist will provide a temporary bridge to wear until the permanent restoration is complete.

Fitting the Permanent Restoration

After a few weeks, your restoration should be complete and you can return to the office for placement. We will check your new bridge to make sure it fits comfortably into your smile. If necessary, we can make any adjustments.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Dental Bridge?

Since a traditional bridge is supported by two dental crowns, your nearby teeth must be healthy and free from damage or decay. If you prefer implants, you must have adequate bone tissue in your jaw to support the procedure. In addition, all patients interested in restoring their smiles with a dental bridge or any other oral prosthetic must be free from gum disease and decay.

We offer comprehensive services at our practice, and we are fully equipped to provide any preparatory treatment you may need before you can receive a bridge. Even if you feel the state of your smile is beyond repair, we encourage you to meet with our dentists to learn how we can rebuild a healthy, functional smile
