Sedation Dentistry
If You Have Dental Anxiety, You Are Not Alone...
Check Out What Our Anxious Patients Have to Say Sedation Dentistry Is a "Godsend"
By far, the best dentist I've ever seen! I am a nervous dental patient with anxiety and panic attacks. They offer conscious sedation which was a Godsend for me when I needed a long root canal procedure. Took almost 3 hours felt like 5 minutes. Dr.Casey is so knowledgeable and up to date with the latest technology. The staff makes you feel right at home, even giving you a pillow for under your neck, a blanket and a tv on the ceiling to watch. Highly recommend. I will never go anywhere else!!!
One word!!! AMAZING!!!
This coming from a totally terrified of DENTISTS patient! Dr Patrick Casey and his entire team are professional, relaxed, and just have a bedside manner that IS TOPNOTCH!!!
I opted for concious sedation as I needed a deep root cleaning combined with extraction of wisdom tooth. I had my 2 minutes of fear as I entered the room and then a couple of hours later I found myself sitting at my dinning room rable being served a soup!!!
Recommend this TEAM at 1000% percent!!!
To add, Dr Patrick Casey adds a personal touch by calling me on the saturday night to check up on me !!! Thank you to the entire team!!! Your simply the BEST!!!
We Offer Two Sedation Options
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral conscious sedation puts patients in a complete state of relaxation during their procedure, but does not render them unconscious. When you choose this sedation method, our dentists will prescribe a sedative for you to take orally one to two hours before your appointment. Once you are sedated, you will be able to respond to questions from out staff, but you will have little memory of your procedure. Patients often choose this method because it involves no needles or masks. However, because the effects of sedation may last for an hour or two, you will need to have someone escort you to and from your appointment.
IV Sedation
Intravenous sedation is often utilized during more complex dental procedures like surgeries or periodontal treatment. Our dentists may also recommend IV sedation for patients with a strong gag reflex or severe dental phobia. Patients who undergo IV sedation will achieve a deeper state of relaxation and will have no memory of their dental treatment once they regain consciousness.
With this sedation method, our dentists administer sedative medication directly into the bloodstream. For this reason, it is far more controllable and it takes effect in much less time. When you choose this method of sedation, you can rest assured that we follow the strictest safety guidelines to ensure a pleasant experience. Our dental practice is one of the few practices in Montreal certified to offer IV sedation in our office.
