We Have Over 100 5-Star Reviews on Google "This Is the Place to Go"
Best dentist I've ever been to easy. I'm an extremely rough patient who is petrified of needles and has panic attacks. Dr. Casey AND HIS STAFF (can't stress this enough, many reviews speak of Dr. Casey but his staff is equally unbelievable and exceptional) have never judged me and have always been nothing but understanding.
If you want the highest level of care possible, this is the place to go.
The office is very inviting and staff outstanding. Dr. Casey, the father was fantastic! What a pleasure it was to be served by him. He is very much of a professional who was honest to tell me that I did not need the work on my teeth that I thought was needed. He further gave me exceptional advice on cleaning my teeth. Great sense of humor and honest!
What to Expect during a Dental Exam
Oral Cancer Screening
Our dentists conduct an oral cancer screening as a part of your general exam to identify areas of concern that might indicate the need for a biopsy. Signs of cancer or irregularities could include:
- Sores on your gums or soft tissue
- White spots
- Lesions
- Sores on your tongue
The National Center for Biotechnology Information deemed that a cancer screening is a cost-effective and efficient way of detecting oral cancer in its earliest stages and reducing your risk of mortality.
Visual Screening
During your exam, our dentists will assess your joint function and check for signs of wear on your back teeth, which could be indicators of teeth grinding or a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. We will also check for signs of gum disease such as deep pockets and tartar buildup and recommend the appropriate periodontal treatment if necessary.
If we notice signs of dental decay, we can recommend a composite filling to restore oral health while maintaining the color of your smile. We will also check your bite and determine whether you have any misalignment issues that can be corrected with orthodontic treatment.
Imaging
We may also conduct imaging such as x-rays to detect cavities and endodontic concerns that might not have immediately visible symptoms. Our practice also uses intraoral cameras to detect issues in hard-to-reach areas.
During your biannual exam, our doctors are able to identify gum disease, tooth decay, and other diseases before the onset of more permanent, serious symptoms.
Professional Cleaning
In most cases, we will perform a routine cleaning during your dental examination to gently remove the plaque on your teeth that is difficult to eliminate at home. Plaque can accumulate into tartar, which can spread underneath your gum line and cause serious periodontal concerns. We can also apply a fluoride treatment, which helps strengthen the enamel that protects your dental tissue from harmful bacteria.
