Orthodontics

A straight and beautiful smile is just one of the important benefits of orthodontics. We offer our patients orthodontic treatment that will not only cosmetically enhance their smile, but also correct the common bite problems (malocclusion) that can cause TMJ disorders and tooth damage. Orthodontics treatment at our Montreal practice allows us to correct smiles with crowded and crooked teeth, and bring the jaw into alignment.

Over time, misaligned or gapped teeth can cause bone loss, jaw pain, tooth decay, and periodontal disease. Straight, evenly aligned teeth promote oral health in addition to looking beautiful. Remember, it is never too late to treat a “bad bite.” With orthodontics, children and adults in Montreal and surrounding areas can gain the self-confidence that comes with a straight, healthy smile. And for patients with minor crowding or misalignment, we offer instant enhancement with aesthetically beautiful porcelain veneers.

New technology and materials have made wearing braces more comfortable than ever before. For more information about orthodontics, contact our practice in Montreal and schedule an appointment with Dr. Casey. Our entire team will ensure that your smile transformation takes place as quickly and comfortably as possible.

TMJ Treatment

TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders describe a variety of conditions affecting the chewing system, namely the muscles and joints of the jaw. After a thorough bite analysis, we offer several TMJ treatment options at our Montreal-area practice, each of which can be discussed in a neuromuscular consultation with Dr. Casey.

Advanced TMJ treatment at our Montreal area practice is a large part of our preventative approach to dentistry. While most dentists limit treatment to the teeth, bones, and gums, we believe that it is necessary to treat the nerves and muscles that control the mouth in order to achieve optimum function of the jaw. This neuromuscular method of dentistry allows us to realign the jaw in a way that reduces or eliminates problems associated with TMJ. We use a revolutionary piece of equipment called the i-CAT® that provides a view of the joint and helps determine the extent of TMJ disorders. The i-CAT® system produces three-dimensional images in a matter of seconds that enable Dr. Casey to analyze and treat a wide range of conditions, such as headaches, migraines, neck and jaw pain, earaches, difficulty chewing, stiffness when opening and closing the mouth, and general pain throughout the face, head, and neck. Thanks in large part to i-CAT® technology, TMJ treatment is as quick and painless as possible for the patient.

Contact us today to schedule a TMJ treatment consultation with Montreal area dentist Dr. Patrick Casey. By aligning the jaw so that teeth and joints work together properly, Dr. Casey can alleviate the pain and pressure associated with TMJ disorders.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are permanent replacements for missing teeth. Many of our patients in the Montreal area choose dental implants over dentures and other removable restorations for the convenience and stability that implants offer. Dental implants are more comfortable than dentures, and they also allow patients to eat a wider variety of foods. They look and feel completely natural, and require no more upkeep than natural teeth. When there are gaps in your smile, dental implants can be used to keep your surrounding teeth in position. Once dental implants have been placed in the jaw, replacement teeth are attached during a procedure at our practice in Montreal. Dental implants and replacement teeth support the bone structure within the jaw, and help patients avoid the unattractive “shrinkage” of the lower jaw that sometimes occurs with removable dentures and bridges.

We utilize the most up-to-date dental implant techniques and materials available. We are one of the few practices in Canada that currently use the cutting edge i-CAT® system to analyze and pinpoint the location of the implant sites. The i-CAT® system is similar to a regular CAT scan, although it produces detailed oral diagnostics without subjecting patients to uncomfortable, catastrophic conditions. The power of the i-CAT® is that it shows us in advance where bone is located and allows us to only open up the tissue where it's necessary. Thus the procedure is more precise and less invasive to the patient.

Dr. Casey has worked with some of the leading dental implants specialists in Canada and the United States and has the skill and experience necessary to produce beautiful results. We receive patients from throughout Canada as well as patients from around the world who are looking for quality implant dentistry. Contact our Montreal-area practice today for more information on dental implants.

Preventative Care

We were one of the first practices to emphasize preventative care. Rather than wait for patients to come to us with decay, periodontal disease and bite problems, we believe in thorough screenings and regular preventative treatment. During initial consultations we perform a complete diagnostic review, take x-rays, check the health of your gums, and analyze your bite for TMJ disorders. We encourage our Montreal area patients to schedule regular check-ups with the doctor and cleanings with our hygienist. During these consultations we can create a restorative or cosmetic dentistry treatment plan to correct any other dental problems.

We also offer emergency services for patients who need immediate treatment.
