Advances in technology have made dental procedures quicker, more comfortable, and more effective. Our practice currently utilizes the latest techniques in cosmetic, reconstructive, and general dentistry. Because we are committed to providing our patients with only the highest level of care, we now offer laser dentistry, neuromuscular dentistry, and sedation dentistry. Our Montreal area practice uses cutting-edge technology to streamline our treatments, and we use digital x-rays and computer imaging technology to better care for and communicate with our patients.
The goal of neuromuscular dentistry is to place the jaw into its optimal resting position. While traditional dentistry limits treatment to the teeth, gums, and joints, neuromuscular dentistry measures the interaction between the muscles and nerves of the jaw in order to balance the teeth, joints, and muscles. When the jaw is realigned, the teeth and joints are no longer in conflict, and the jaw can function without pressure and tension.
To determine the optimal position of the jaw, we begin with a neuromuscular dentistry consultation at our Montreal area practice. Neuromuscular dentistry requires complete attention to detail, and precise measurements. Our advice and treatment plans are based on factual measurements of your jaw, not simply opinion. We use advanced diagnostic tools to measure the position and movements of your jaw. By evaluating the function of your bite, we can determine the position that will allow the muscles in your jaw to relax, easing pain and stiffness associated with TMJ disorders.
There are millions of people who suffer from migraines and constant pain and stiffness throughout the head, neck and face. Most of these people have no idea that these aches and pains are being caused by a misaligned jaw. The symptoms of neuromuscular disorders, including TMJ, are often so varied and complex that patients will be shuffled from doctor to doctor in the hopes of easing their discomfort. With neuromuscular dentistry, Montreal area patients now have the opportunity to be thoroughly diagnosed by dentists with advanced training in malocclusion (bite disorders). Patients who have been experiencing pain for years will finally receive the answers they have been looking for.
If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms please don't hesitate to schedule a neuromuscular dentistry consultation at our Montreal practice.

Laser dentistry is perfectly safe for both children and adults and allows patients to experience dental treatment without the dreaded drill and its irritating “whistle.” There are several different cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry procedures that are easier and more effective when combined with laser dentistry. At our Montreal area practice, we use lasers to remove decay, to enhance teeth whitening, and to recontour and shape diseased or unattractive gums. Laser dentistry allows us to perform soft tissue gum therapy without surgery. Lasers outperform traditional methods of decay removal and can dramatically reduce the levels of bacteria in teeth. Laser dentistry has also streamlined teeth whitening procedures at our Montreal area practice by making it possible to dramatically lighten teeth in a short amount of time. If you are suffering from periodontal disease or simply want to get rid of your “gummy” smile, laser dentistry also allows us to recontour your gums and remove diseased gum tissue.
We have incorporated laser dentistry into our Montreal practice because we believe this technology provides the best results for our patients. Laser dentistry can be performed with little or no anesthesia. After a laser dentistry procedure, there is less healing time and less discomfort. With laser dentistry, Montreal area patients will experience treatment that is fast, effective, and comfortable.

If you have been avoiding the dentist because of anxiety about treatment, you may be a candidate for sedation dentistry. Our practice offers Montreal patients the opportunity to complete dental procedures under “deep” sedation, or “conscious” sedation. Dr. Casey is a certified practitioner in sedation dentistry, and can insure a painless and comfortable dental experience at his Montreal practice. You will be able to choose from several sedation dentistry techniques designed to reduce anxiety and alleviate your fears.
To help ease anxiety and apprehension, our practice offers conscious sedation dentistry for Montreal area patients. Conscious sedation dentistry puts patients in a complete state of relaxation during treatment but does not render them unconscious. Patients can respond to questions from our staff but will have little memory of any interaction or treatment once they leave our office. Conscious sedation dentistry requires no needles, and the effects will quickly wear off after treatment!
More complex procedures like dental implants or periodontal treatment may require intravenous “deep” sedation dentistry. Montreal and Westmount patients who undergo I.V. sedation dentistry will achieve a deeper state of relaxation and will have no memory of the procedure once they regain consciousness. I.V. sedation dentistry can be used for patients with severe dental phobias, patients who simply want to be “out of it” during treatment, or patients who require complex treatment and would like to consolidate several of their procedures into one, pain-free visit.

As we age, our smile tends to change and our teeth begin to wear down. This change in appearance can cause the lower jaw and skin around the mouth to appear sunken, drawn, or hollow. Before considering plastic surgery as an option, we urge patients to investigate how reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry can revitalize their appearance.
Excessive wear on the teeth can cause your smile to diminish. By restoring your teeth to a healthy length and position we can add fullness and contour to the lower jaw and lips. Not only will your smile be healthier, you will also enjoy the added benefits of a more youthful appearance!
Come in for a consultation with Dr. Casey if you would like to see how cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry can take years off your appearance.
Our practice uses digital x-rays for the convenience and comfort of our patients. Digital x-rays are faster, cleaner, and safer than traditional x-rays and produce up to 90 percent less radiation. Digital x-rays can be enlarged for easier viewing and diagnosis and can be reproduced and sent to insurance companies for quicker review of claims.
We also use an intraoral camera that can record images from inside the mouth. This footage can be magnified and transferred to a monitor so that you will be able to see the areas that may need extra attention in your regular home hygiene.
State-of-the-art i-CAT® technology is used to help determine the extent of TMJ disorders and place dental implants. i-CAT® scans are entirely safe and comfortable for the patient yet produce detailed three-dimensional images that are invaluable diagnostic tools.
